Welcome to the Adult Ministries! We have many
different ministries for adults and we invite you to check them out.
On Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. we offer several
Study Groups for adults. The Women's
Ministry organizes a weekly Bible Study as
well as special events and activities. Our Men's
Ministry meets weekly for Bible Study and
fellowship. A ministry designed for Senior
Adults enjoys monthly luncheons and
special outings.
Our Sunday morning Study Groups provide opportunity
for everyone to receive training in God’s Word. We have 4 options
to choose from. They inlcude:
Daughters of the King, Ladies Bible Study - meets in the parlor led by Sue Ann Loyola. They
will be studying “RICH! God meeting Your
Deepest Needs.”
Men of Honor - Meets in
the Sanctuary overflow area facilitated by Daryl Yoder.
2nd Peter - This
class meets in fellowship hall - kitchen side taught by Suren Kumar.
Foundations 2 - Meets
in fellowship hall - office side, taught by Pastor Tom.
My attention was arrested by “How We Are
Failing,” a brief sidebar in the current issue of Leadership
Journal.*
“In a wide-ranging study of major American
denominations, the Search Institute of Minneapolis determined that the
most important factor in producing a mature, well-balanced, and
well-integrated Christian faith was not excellent preaching, worship,
small-group fellowship, or anything else, but adult Christian
education. And yet, I daresay there is no element in contemporary
church life that is more poorly undertaken in most churches. A sermon
and a home Bible study each week cannot possibly suffice.” Wow!
Now, may I (a) toot our own horn for a moment, and
(b) extend an invitation to you? (a) Our elders/vision team foresaw the
need for an intentional approach to adult Christian
education—regularly offering a course which teaches the
fundamentals of the Christian faith. Voila! Foundations 1 & 2! As
Jerry and Joyce Duey were preparing for missionary service with Africa
Inland Mission, they discovered that what they had received in
Foundations 2 counted toward about 4 of their
educational prerequisites. (b) Foundations 2 starts up September
19! Learn more details about it at our “Back
to Study Group Open House” on September 5 at 9:30 and sign up for
the class—get on the path to “a mature, well-balanced, and
well-integrated Christian faith.”
